ELO Review

I haven't seen many acts more than once, but ELO is one of them that I have. I saw them about three years ago and then again two days ago. Still just as good. One of my favorites Western Hero, they did before, but not this time. The only disappointment for me, and even that was no big deal. There really is no one else like them. There aren't many acts you can say that about. They combine classical and rock music. Beside the drums, electric guitars, and the other typical rock band stuff, they also had two cellos, a violin and an opera singer on stage. One of the best songs ever - Rockaria - shows how they blend the two together. Its a song about a rock singer and an opera singer that fall in love. In the chorus, he laments that, "She's sweet on Wagner; She'd nearly die for Beethoven; She loves the way Puccini lays down a tune; And Verdi's always creeping from her room". That's some good songwriting right there. Even their name is genius. Electric Light Orchestra - combining "Electric Light" and "Light Orchestra".

Their final song was Mr. Blue Sky. it really wasn't much of a hit when it was released, but being featured in Guardians of the Galaxy gave it a second, bigger life. Apparently this is their farelell tour. So, see them if you get the chance. However, if you are succeptably to being effected by strobe lighting etcetera, this might not be for you. Lots of lasers and flashing lights. Very impressing, but kind of dizzying, too.
