Actually, they are in first place in their division at the moment. To keep that would put them in the playoffs - something they've only done like five times. But let's not get too excited. Its early yet.
Another thing I ended up liking was something I wasn't aware of until after the game. Apparently there was a guy that caught a foul ball. No big deal. But then on the next pitch, there was another foul ball and he caught that one too. There were over 22,000 people at the game. That seems pretty remarkable. It's probably one of the few things they don't keep statistics on, but it would be interesting to know if that has ever happened before.
I don't quite understand all the excitement some have about getting a foul ball. I knew a guy that hurt his shoulder pretty bad by diving for a foul ball. That would be ok if you're a player doing it on the field and you're paid to do it, but not up in the stands. I've seen outfielders that don't put as much effort into getting to balls. People bring baseball mitts to the ball park on the off chance a ball comes there way. I did sit by someone that got one once and I asked her if I could hold it for a second. That's as much effort as I'm willing to put into it.
