Identified as Homeless

A week ago I was walking to the library from my house. Its a five to ten minute walk. I was dressed, I thought, fairly normally. I was taking some materials to the library, so I had a backpack on my back. There was a man standing next to his car. He asked me if if I needed anything to eat. I'm assuming he had a trunk full of sandwiches to hand out to the needy. I apparently have sunk to the demographic of the homeless poor.

I recycle my Diet Coke bottles. Yesterday, without thinking about it, I again had my backpack on my back and was also carrying a large bag full of Coke cans. I don't know that anyone saw me, but if they did, people probably would have been falling all over themselves to provide me with services.

No offense to those that are in that position in their lives, but I just didn't think I would have had the look that would make people assume I fit that category. So that's a goal for me, to take more care with my look, at least anytime out in public.
