I've done a few things this Summer. Some were planned, but for most I was in the area and took these side trips. So the next few posts will be kind of a travelogue (not sure what that word really means or if anyone uses it any more.) Or maybe like the Travel Channel. No it won't be the Travel Channel, because what I've seen of that it is really the food channel. They just go places and eat. CNN has some Anthony Bourdain show that does the same thing. Why is watching people eat considered entertaining? It must get pretty good ratings because they have a lot of those kinds of shows.
Anyway, in L.A. I went on the Warner Brothers tour. There was a lot of sets that had to do with Gilmore Girls and Pretty Little Liars. The first time they pointed out something from Pretty Little Liars, the girl sitting next to me actually screamed. Apparently, she's a fan. It didn't mean quite as much to me not having seen the show.

Highlights for me - We got to see the set of The Big Bang Theory. That was fun. They have the various rooms of the show next to each other. It was interesting to see how it is set up. It would be fun to see an actual taping, but because of how it is laid out, for various shots you would have to watch a monitor as your view wouldn't be very good.

The West Wing used to be my favorite show. I got to sit at President Jeb Bartlett's desk. That was really fun. They had the set from 2.5 Men, which I think was at best, maybe 1.5 men, and a set from Friends. They don't tape anymore, so
they were just kind of museum pieces. They had big rooms devoted to Batman autos/costumes, and to Harry Potter costumes.
I got to hold an Oscar they had won for an early Daffy Duck cartoon. Those things are heavy. There were a lot of other odds and ends. At $40, maybe a little spendy, but it was fun.
