I was looking through some of my pictures on Saturday and I came across some I forgot about. They were at the Kentucky Horse Park by Lexington, Kentucky. That is up in the Bluegrass or horse country section of Kentucky. It is pretty cool. It is a working horse ranch where they are in serious training for races. But it is also a place you can visit with a lot of cool things, even if you aren't totally into horse racing.
I saw the grave of Man O War - a famous race horse. As I recall, they bury they hooves, heart and head and burn the rest. Yes, kind of gross. I "met" Funnycide, a Kentucky Derby winner. Surprisingly, a big thrill for me.
They let visiting children draw horse pictures. There were some hilariously bad ones I thought. Yes, that isn't polite of me to think that, but I can't help it. I took pictures of them, of course. Granted, I couldn't do any better, but I know better than to share my drawings with the public.
Here we go.
