Kobe

I saw Kobe and the Lakers play a couple nights ago. Little did I know he was going to announce he was retiring the next day. He got booed each time he got the ball. It's kind of a tribute really. Blazer fans hate him because of how many times he beat up on the Blazers. I heard that the Blazers is (are?) the NBA team that he has scored the most points against.

There were quite a few Laker fans there. Bless their hearts. They're sticking with the team even when they suck. You have to respect that. They would yell "Shoot it" every time he touched the ball. He complied pretty much every time. He still has some moves. He shot a couple turn around jumpers that I don't know how he even got them off. The difference now is they don't go in. The Laker fans also started chanting "MVP". Let's not get ridiculous here. Actually, not a bad game for Kobe compared to how he has been doing. He had 21 points. The game before he was something like 2 for 14 and the game after he was 1 for 15. Abysmal. Online, someone said it looked like Kobe was building his retirement home out of bricks. That was unkind. Hilarious, but unkind.

Kobe's situation seems very similar to Peyton Manning's. They are maybe the best of this generation in their respective sports. Both have missed a lot of time in the last couple years due to major injuries. Both are playing pretty badly now it would seem due to age. They're both around the same age. Even before Kobe announced it, everyone was assuming it would be the last year for each. Maybe throw Tiger Woods in there too with many of the same things going on with him.

Anyway, good luck the rest of the season, Kobe. Your team is awful and you kind of are too, now. Just relax and have fun. And maybe don't shoot as much.
