Kentucky Basketball

UK basketball took a hit yesterday with a loss to Florida and also losing our star player to an injury. We were on a winning streak of 5 or 6 games and things were looking pretty good. Our typical starting line up has been four freshman and one sophomore. We might even sneak a few high school kids in once in a while. We are young because last year's entire starting line up left school to enter the NBA draft. But going into the game we were back in the top 25 of the nation. OK, we were exactly at #25. That's still good, though. That ranking probably won't last after getting spanked by Florida and losing our star.

People love their team here. There are a million t-shirts, all proclaiming last year's and all the other years' national championships. There have been 8 altogether and they put an "8" and the color blue on just about everything.

John Calipari, or "Coach Cal" as he is know here, is like a god. Every other coach gets criticized from time to time. I have never heard anyone say anything against Coach Cal. Coach Call is The Man.

Anyway, even with last night's setback, I think we still make it into March Madness, but its probably another couple years until Kentucky gets number 9.
