Angie and Her List

I'm not sure who this Angie is, but she has a list going. You need an electrician or plumber and you go on-line and enter your information. Then someone will contact you. When I signed up, it looked like I was going straight through to a local electrician. Turns out later it was going to Angie's List - which for some reason is now just called Angi. Apparently the word "list" was controverial or something. Plus, she dropped the "e" for some reason. Apparently Angie/Angi is a real person, Angie Hicks. I'm sure there are many women that know about electrical/plumbing/ect. She doesn't quite soeem the type, but maybe.

The electrician I ended up getting was great. Kind of expensive I thought, but great. My problem is that it seems Angi gives your need out to a whole lot of companies. On the wesite they said it would be not more than four. I got way more than four. I only checked a couple of the voice mails. - they were electrical companies so i'm guessing the other unrecongizable phone numbers I got calls form were the electrical companies as well. How many calls? Within 3 days I got 24 calls. That was just the phone calls. There were a bunch of e-mails, too.

Somehow I gove 7 calls from Sister Oregon, all with different phone numbers. Sisters has a population of 3,000 and is 3 hours from where I live. I don't understand how that is helpful. By the way, I haven't mentioned e-mails from Home Advisor who seems to be associated. I get those every day. I "unsubscribe" each day, but they keep coming. I'm not really totally compaining. I least I don't think so. My situtation turned out fine. I just am confused and would kind of like to know how this system works. So go ahead and use Angi, but be ready for a lot of companies steered your way.
