This will be fun. The most overrated sports personalities. We'll maybe do most underrated next time. I'll just do the list on the top of my head, but then I might go back and look up their statistics.
10. LA Dodgers Fans - A late addition. They just won the World Series. Boo-hoo we haven't won a World Series in 32 years. There are 30 teams in baseball, so its not like you were greatly overdue. Try being a Mariner's fan.
9. Colin Kapernick - He was in a Super Bowl with a team he was a back up quarterback for them, whose starter got injured midway through the season. His lifetime completion percentage is under 60%. You are not on a team not because you won't stand for the national anthem. Its because you're not good.
8. Muhammed Ali - He was good. He was voted athlete of the century. I don't think so. He came back and won the heavyweight championship three times. But that means he had to lose it three times. I'm not sure he was better than Joe Frazier for example, but Frazier wasn't as charismatic.
7. Robert Horry - He was a decent player that happened to play on a number of winning teams. He was so so.
6. Ricky Henderson - He stole a lot of bases, but he got thrown out a lot. Statistically, didn't really help his team that much. He hit a bunch of lead off home runs. Let Babe Ruth hit lead off and he would have hit a bunch there too.
5. Cal Ripkin Jr. - I like him a lot. But what did he do? He played every day. Probably the only major league record I think I could possibly break.
4. Joe Dimaggio - Again, good, but overrated because a.) he was centerfielder for the Yankees. b/) Married Marilyn Monroe. c.) got a hit in 57 games in a row. (that its in a row, doesn't make it more special than if those games were spread out) d.) Mr. Coffee ads
3.) Bill Russel - He played on a lot of championship team that had a lot of other good players. He got a lot of rebounds and was a great defender. But on offense he wasn't much. He made like sixteen points a game and played good defense. There are a lot like him.
2.) Joe Namath - He completed less that half his passes. He threw more interceptions than touchdowns.
1.) Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and all the other cheaters. You're not supposed to take drugs to make you stronger so you can hit more home runs. They did and apparently that's fine. They won a lot of games, got paid a lot of money, and hit a lot of home runs with no consequences. Kids, go ahead a cheat. It seems it pays.
