Iowa

My  big plan this summer is to visit Iowa. That's right, Iowa. Four years ago I heard that the Iowa State Fair was just filled with people running for president. Bernie, Hillary, etc. were all lining up folks for the Iowa Caucus. And while I'm not exactly sure what a caucus is, the candidates apparently think its a big deal. I thought then that in four years I need to go to Iowa. So that's my plan. I guess, you can't take a step without bumping in to someone running for president. I may end up disappointed, but at worst I get to go the the Iowa State Fair. As state fairs go, its supposed to be one of the biggest. What is Iowa known for beside corn? Nothing. So of course they're going to have a great state fair.

There has to be more to Iowa than that. No, not really. There is a little more, though. The movie Field of Dreams was filmed there. John Wayne was born there. Buddy Holly died there. John Deere headquarters is there. I think that is pretty much it, though. Plus I don't think I've ever been to Iowa. So, adventure awaits.
