I'm flying to London. I'm there for about a week. I'll make a diary of each day's exploits.
So this is day one. It actually starts on a Saturday evening and the flight ends on Sunday morning. We get to the airport, check in, get through security and get on the plane. All stressful events for me. You shouldn't worry about what might happen. That is a great philosophy. I, however, have spent a lot of my life worrying about what might happen. Turned out, of course, nothing happened. I am seated by the window - good. But that means I don't have access to the aisle to use the restroom. I counter that by not drinking anything for like twelve hours before the flight. My strategy worked.
I was seated next to an Indian couple. They brought their own food. There were several trays of it. I'm serious. And it seemed authentic Indian food. At least it smelled like it. After their dinner she fell asleep on my shoulder. We'll its only an ten hour flight.
I've had other eventful flights. There was the time I sat between two guys that each took up about 1.2 seats. And once I sat next to a person with a beard and turban and seemed to be from the middle east. You shouldn't prejudge people, but that did get my attention.
We get there and the subway took us within half a block of our hotel. Nice. And within a block of it is a Burger King and KFC. Nice, again.
With the time left on Sunday, we went for a walk. We went by the Royal Albert Hall. Now I know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall. Not really. And saw some statues in St. James Park and went to Harrod's. There aren't many famous department stores, but I think that is one. Its pretty upscale. They had towels for like $120. Seriously. I'm surprised they even let people like us in.
