- Kareem Abdul Jabbar
- Karl Malone
- Kobe Bryant
- Michael Jordan
- Wilt Chamberlain
- Dirk Nowitzki
- LeBron James
I saw Kareem a long time ago. I went to a Laker game when they played in the Forum. Recently famous for being on "Dancing with the Stars". I saw a clip and he seemed to be on "Mostly Just Standing There with the Stars".
I didn't see Karl Malone, but I saw the stadium where the Jazz play. It's on the corner of Karl Malone Drive and John Stockton Pass. Seriously. Well done. The Utah Jazz used to be the New Orleans Jazz. I get not wanting the change their mascot name, but maybe the Utah Salts, the Utah Mormons, I don't know.
Kobe Bryant. I saw him and the next day he announced his retirement. True story. It was a good idea. When I saw him, he was clearly past his basketball prime.
Michael Jordan. Never saw him play, but I went to a Charlotte game. He is the owner of the team and he was sitting front row, center court. I took a million pictures. OK. It turned out it wasn't him, but on the plus side, I now have twenty pictures of a tall black guy I don't know.
Wilt. Didn't see him. But Wilt the Stilt is one of the best sports nicknames of all time.
Dirk. I saw him play. Past his prime, but still pretty good. Dirk Nowitzki and Brett Favre get the award for guys whose names would always pronounced wrong, but because they're famous get pronounced correctly.
LeBron. Saw him when he was with the Heat. Dwayne Wade might have been more impressive that night. They both had around 32 points as I recall.
What is also kind of interesting is I notice I've seen four of the top seven, and then to get to the next, I have to go to number thirty - Clyde Drexler.
So, most of those I've been lucky to see. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Except for that stranger in Charlotte.
