101 Ways to Write a Blog

I don't have 101 ways to write a blog. Sorry to lure you in on false pretenses. I just saw advice on the internet on how to write blogs. So it made me think about my little blog. They said titles like 101 ways to... or 10 things you can do to..., titles like that get people's attention. I think that does work. I'm a sucker for that kind of thing. I love lists of things. Now that I think about it, my last blog was about lists I had found online. So I guess it does work.

They also talked about how you can make money off of your blog. I guess by having advertisers or something. I'm not doing that. I do my blog as a labor of love. OK, that's a little much. But whatever I might make off of it, couldn't be a whole lot. I did see a while ago I have like 8,000 hits since I've started it. I don't really look for that. I knew somebody that had their own blog and they look all the time to see their statistics. I try to never look because I really don't want to know, but every once in a while when I sign on I might notice it. So I'm not exactly sure why I do it. Maybe it therapeutic for me. It's maybe like a diary, although that makes it sound like I'm like a 12 year old girl.

I've had problems knowing how often I should do this. So far, its been when I've felt like it, which I think has turned out to be 2 or 3 times a week. I think I'm going to go for once on the weekend and once during the week. That gives me a little more structure. I like to plan things out. I've noticed things would be a lot easier to plan if there weren't seven days in a week. Seven is a prime number, so its tough coming up with regular rotations. If there were eight days in a week you could do things every other day, or every fourth day and things would come out the same days each week. I know where the seven comes from - six days of creation and resting on the seventh. God maybe could have thrown in an extra day of rest for himself. I think he earned it. It was a very busy week. And wouldn't that make for a great work week for us now? Work a couple days, get Wednesday off, work a couple more, then the weekend. If God had taken that extra day mid-week, humanity might have turned out better. I think he was tired when he got to day six. I think that explains a lot.

People ask me where I get my ideas for my blog. OK, no one has ever asked me. But if they did, the answer is I don't know. Virtually everything I've written, I just start writing. I might have the initial theme a couple of days ahead, but otherwise I'm just throwing words out there. I don't put a lot of time or effort into it. I bet that's how all the great writers do it.
