Going on Tour

Speaking of Art G - I've thought for a long time that a great tour would be some of the second stringers of duos and groups. They have tours of some of the people on American Idol, etc type shows. This would be much more entertaining. Here's the line up for a really cool concert -

Lead singer - Art Garfunkel / That other guy with Air Supply
Guitar - John Oates
Piano - Richard Carpenter
Drums - Ringo Starr
Back-up singers - The Pips / The Jackson 4

People would flock to that. There's got to be others we can throw in there that I'm not thinking of. We could work in The Captain from The Captain and Tennille, but I'm not sure what he even did.

I would think they would love that, too. If I was a famous singer, I would just keep doing concerts. I don't know why people don't do that. You could just stay home and count your money I guess, but that's got to get old after a while. People get lauded when they do like 200 concerts a year. That's not that big of a deal. Most people work way more than 200 days a year. And they don't have to work two hour days and have thousands of people cheering for them while they're working. I'm glad guys like Paul and Elton still go on tour, but its really not such a big sacrifice.

By the way, check this out:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdN27HzoyO4  It is hilarious. Remember Gladys Knight and the Pips? There were a couple times they went on TV shows without Gladys just to poke fun at themselves... "Ladies and gentlemen here are - And The Pips".
