Air Force One

At the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio they have a hanger which has several presidential planes. There were planes used by FDR, Truman, and Eisenhower. The biggest and most impressive was one that was used by Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon. It took Kennedy to Dallas and Nixon to China. It was the one Johnson took the oath of office after Kennedy died. Taking my first ever, and very possible last, selfie, I recreated that event. I held up one hand  to take the oath and used the other hand to take the picture. I was standing in the spot he stood. It was all quite historically accurate except for a few details, e.g., LBJ was not wearing a Reds cap at the time. Otherwise, spot on.

You had to get there early because a bus takes you out to the hanger and they said space was limited. I was there at one minute after opening and there was a line of a dozen people. How did that happen? Anyway, I made the cut and got on the bus. They let us just roam around the hangar and look at and walk through the planes.  It was a major highlight and I didn't even know it existed until a couple months ago.
