Basketball

In assorted basketball news:

In a poll for next season, they have Kentucky ranked number one and Louisville number two in the nation. The number one high school player ended up going to Kansas, but Kentucky signed several that were in the top twenty. There was much nashing of teeth here when that happened. Potential signings for the UK basketball team seems to be big, big news. So things look good for next year. Although things looked good this year too, but with injuries, etc it didn't work out very well.

In the NBA, I'm pulling for the Heat and the Pacers. The Pacers because I was in Indianapolis the night they won their last playoff series. I am taking this as a sign that I must support them. So, go Pacers!! I'm pulling for the Heat because 1.) I'm a front runner and 2.) I saw them play a year ago. I'm a Heat fan for life now - or until they trade away Lebron. The Heat were playing Portland that night, but since Portland sucks it doesn't seem like a viable option. I'm still not over the Jailblazer years when the team had more criminals that most prisons.

Incidentally, I haven't given up hope of being called up by an NBA dream. I figured out my ticket in. I could perfect flopping. Flopping is when you pretend to get fouled by falling to the ground even though nobody touched you. In every NBA game there are always a few players that don't play at all. So they could afford to have someone with skills such as I have to play for a few minutes a game to collect a crucial foul when needed. Their star player has five fouls? Put me in coach. I can get him to get his 6th. Behind by a point late in the game? I can flop while in the act of shooting. Of course I'll need to work on my free throws too, but that is already a strong point for me. Not to brag, but I once made 23 straight free throws at the hoop in my driveway. It didn't have the pressure of an NBA game, but I live for pressure, so I'm sure that wouldn't effect me.
