My travelogue blog series turns out to not be in chronological or geographical order. I'm not sure why I've done that. I've just been skipping around. Anyway, between St. Louis and Chicago was Springfield, Illinois. It has the Abe Lincoln Presidential Museum. I've heard a lot of people say how great it is. It was a little showy for my taste. It's different from the others I've been in. Its the kind of museum you would have if Disney built it. I can see why it's popular, it just isn't my favorite. I took a ton of pictures. I was surprised nobody else was taking pictures. It made sense after about an hour when I saw the "No Photography, Please" sign. Sorry, Abe. The main things is I got off a lot of good clicks before seeing the sign.
Springfield has a few other things - pretty much all of it Lincoln related - His house, his grave (a bit gaudy), his law office, etc.
On a completely unrelated note, I saw the following advertisement at a flea market. I had to take a picture. I'm not sure exactly what the exact point of these "ear candles" are, but it seems disturbing. Does this seem like a good idea to anyone?
