Hell's Angels

I watched something on the travel channel about the annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. I guess it becomes a zoo for about a week and the rest of the year is a pretty normal town. Last summer we were there about a week before it was to start. We were at Devil's Tower, which is close to Sturgis, and a group of Hell's Angels were there on their motorcycles. They all had jackets with "Hell's Angels" on the back of the jacket. First I thought these were a bunch of tough guy wannabees, but then I thought, "This is right by Sturgis. Its a few days before the big rally. And these guys do look like pretty bad dudes. I bet these guys are the real deal."

On the way out of the park I stopped at a store to take a picture. After I had gotten out of the car the whole pack of them came to park at the same parking lot I was at. One of them parked right behind me blocking my car in. I went up to him and told him, "Hey buddy. Move that thing or I'll move it for you." At least that is what I thought about saying. I actually just waited passively in my car until he moved on. I'm assuming they were intimidated by me and that's why they left. Yeah, that's probably it.

Incidently, Devil's Tower was in the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." There are special effects in the movie, but the Devil's Tower is a real place. I remember getting to the end of the movie and not knowing why they called it that. I assume I wasn't paying attention because I have no idea what the other two kinds were. Anyway its a pretty impressive hunk of rock.
