Piano

I bought a "piano" at Wal-Mart for $170. Its not perfect, but its really not bad. It only has 61 keys, so you have to get creative when a song gets out of its range, but it can be done. I also have access to pianos at the school and at another nearby building, so it works out. I filled in for the regular piano player at a church a month ago and I played for the school devotions for a week. My love for the piano still exceeds my abilities, but that's OK. I'm no you know who, but I'm good enough.

Speaking of the piano, it reminds me of a concert I went to a couple years ago. It was a dual concert with Elton John and Billy Joel. Elton came out at the start while the band played some British march. Then Billy came out while they played Yankee Doodle. Adorably cute. They did four duets then they each did there own concert. Billy was very good. Not as good as my boy, Elton, but very good. I've always considered him a poor man's Elton John. Anyway, they came out at the end for another set of songs together. I kept thinking, what is going to be their closing song. They had done the ones I thought would be good closers - Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me, The Entertainer, Your Song... I just couldn't figure it out. Billy had already gone through all his big hits I could think of. Elton still had more big hits in reserve of course, but not ones I thought would be good to close with. Then Billy took out his harmonica and started doing Piano Man. Of course. How could I have missed that? The perfect closing song for them.
