St. Louis II

As the travelogue continues, we are day two in St. Louis. Not as much happened today, but still a very cool day. We went to the St. Louis Botanical Gardens in the morning. I thought that would be boring. OK, it kind of was, but it had its interesting moments.
For lunch we went to the Joe Fassi Sandwich Shop. I had never heard of him, but while growing up, he played with Joe Garagiola and Yogi Berra, baseball catchers for the Cardinals and Yankees, respectively. Joe went on to be a baseball announcer and a host of The Today Show for a while. Yogi was maybe the best catcher of all-time and went on to be a manager and have a cartoon character named after him. Anyway, the Joe Fassi Shop had a bunch of newspaper articles and baseball and the guys he grew up with. It was really interesting.
The Basillica is a catholic church in St. Louis. It is very impressive. From being in Europe once I've seen quite a few impressive churches. This maybe outdid those. I'm attaching a picture I took, but it really won't do it justice.

This day, or maybe it was the day before, we ate at a place called Blueberry Hill. I hadn't heard of it, but he has a million pictures on the wall of people that had eaten there - comedians, singers, presidents. It was very impressive. Chuck Berry, who I frankly thought was dead, apparently plays there once a month. Trivia note - Chuck Berry was the first person voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That is in Cleveland. I need to mapquest that. If that isn't too far from Kentucky, I'm going. Speaking of Kentucky, that's our final stop.
