So, leaving Richland, Washington and heading East. If you are into amber waves of grain, you would love this part of the trip. After going through Spokane, it was more interesting because I had never been on this road before. It just took about an hour 15 minutes to make it across the panhandle of Idaho. All I had heard about Northern Idaho is that it is a hangout for a lot of neo-nazi types. I didn't see any swastikas or goose-stepping or anything like that. It was actually all very pretty country. Crossing into Montana was more of the same. However, it clouded up and there was a lot of thunder and rain in the evening. Somehow I drove at a pace that kept me underneath the same rain cloud for a couple hours.
Over then next two days I drive from Northwest to Southeast Montana. No offense Montana, but going that direction the scenery gets progressively less attractive. Montana I think is either the 3rd or 4th largest state and I'm driving the diagonal of it, making about 550 miles. There isn't much to look at and it seems like its never going to end. Just like Tron II. (Zing). I had been to Montana during college. Some of my friends heard there was an intersection of George Ave. and Harrison Ave. and we wanted to go see it. Anyway, that was our pretext for going. We didn't find it, but I did see Harrison Avenue on this trip. I was going to go farther, but stopped at Bozeman. Almost everything was full for some reason. I'm usually a Motel 6 kind of guy. This was something like a Motel 2. Not very good, but it worked out.
