On the news this morning it said that all the Borders book stores would be closing. I immediately went into denial. I later decided to go to our local store to see if I could get any information. When I walked in, there was a a newsperson interviewing one of the workers. I knew that could possibly be about a closure of the store, but being the optomist I am, I was hoping the newsman was there because somebody had just been murdered there or something. Not seeing any chalk outline on the floor, I became increasingly concerned. Others came into the store and they confirmed the store would be closing soon. They also said the Evangel book store would be closing by the end of the month. So Klamath will soon be officially illiterate. No big deal. Eventually everyone will just gradually forget how to read. People will still need to know how to read some for road signs, the internet, and my blog, but thats about it. OK, I'm headed back into denial.
