Five for Fighting

This is my review of the group Five for Fighting. By group I mean one guy. He took the name from a hockey term - a five minute penalty for fighting. To digress - I guess that's why there are so many fights in hockey. In basketball you get kicked out for fighting. In hockey you get a five minute timeout, which if you're tired, you probably appreciate anyway.

I saw him tonight. In fact the concert just got over about an hour ago. He is really good. He's only had a couple of big hits, but he's a great pianist and songwriter and singer. He actually did have five people tonight as he had a string quartet backing him up. They were quite good and his music lends itself to that. He's really funny, too. He gave some semi-political speeches, but it was stuff I agreed with, so I was fine with that. He had songs that tied with those topics - supporting Ukraine and the Israel hostages.

Almost all were his own songs, but he did Rocket Man and Bohemian Rhapsody and had the audience sing along to them. Bohemian Rhapsody seemed like a tall order, but sounded really good with the string quartet.

If you get a chance to see him, I think you should.
