My last time to see my boy Elton is coming up. He's on his farewell tour. The ticket was outrageous, but I guess that its to be expected. This will make an even ten times for me. So I guess I've had my fill. Who else have I seen more than once? Not many. A long time ago I saw Ricky Nelson a couple times. I've seen the Beach Boys three times. That might be it.
His concerts usually go almost three hours. If he is in Las Vegas they go about an hour and a half. I'm assuming the casinos have a time limit in order to get folks back on to the gambling floor. There isn't a lot of mystery for me. I'll just sit back in my high altitude seats and enjoy the show. There isn't a lot to see anyway. He sits at his piano. Between songs he'll stand up and take a bow, maybe get a drink of water. In earlier shows he would do a hand stand on the piano. He seems to have given that up. Good idea Elton.
Here is another list I just thought of - Elton hits I've never heard him do in a concert -
Island Girl - Could be considered just a little bit racist, so I get that.
Honky Cat - That seems like a great one to do, but he's never done it. At least not for me, anyway.
Don't Go Breaking My Heart - He doesn't have Kiki to do a duet with, so makes sense.
Nikita - Fine. I don't like it anyway. Communist loves songs aren't as popular these days I guess.
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - He didn't write it, so ok.
Step Into Christmas - Best Christmas Song Ever. But this is January, so looks like I'll never hear that one live.
Sacrifice - I could be wrong, but I don't think he's done that.
There is a lot more reminiscing I could do, but I guess I won't. Stay tuned for a report.
