I looked at the top hundred athletes and number 100 was like $16 million a year. What would I do with $16 million?
I'll just be crazy extravagant here:
- Buy a really nice house - $5 million
- Buy another house - $4 million
- Buy two or three really nice cars - $1 million
- Donate a lot of money because I'm a nice guy or so I won't have to pay taxes - $5 million
- Eat out all the time - $0.1 million
- Miscellaneous stuff I like to buy like dvd's, books, etc - $.01 million
I'm done. I can't think of anything else I could possibly buy that I would at all want. I've still got almost a million left. I'll try to live off that until next year, when I get another $16 million dollars. And now I already own pretty much everything I can think of.
How do the really rich people spend that money? I've left out expensive drugs and bad investments. Some of the rich people spend their money on those I suppose.
You could also give a lot of money to charities, but I kind of doubt that is why those athletes are holding out. Bill Gates once said that you can make so much money its impossible to spend it all. That is why he gives so much away I guess. Good job, Bill.
We should have a law that no one can make more than $10 million a year. That should be plenty for anyone. Any excess goes to pay down the national debt or to charities. The rich are still plenty rich and others get the benefit. That won't happen, but seems like a good idea.
