What's left. Well, I had never seen Paramount Studios. Its $58 a person and $15 to park, but I'm going anyway. Exorbitant, but still worth the money. We had a tour guide and got to ride around in little golf carts to various locations on the lot. (He said he once almost ran over Jennifer Anniston.) I'll just go through highlights.
- Forrest Gump Bench - The scenes of him sitting on the bench were filmed in South Carolina, but they moved the bench out to LA. You get to sit on it. Pretty cool.
- Dr. Phil - You get to go in to where they philm the Dr. Phil show. You can't take any pictures there. Pretty much any play else pictures are fine, but not in Phil's studio. Sound's like he's the one that has some issues. OK, I take that back. I love Dr. Phil. I really do.
- The Doctors - That is filmed right next door. I've seen about three minutes of that show, so not a big thrill.
- The big Paramount gates you see in a lot of old movies.
- Where the filmed some of the outdoor Seinfeld scenes.
- Numerous famous props from movies.
Here's something interesting I learned. Marlon Brando didn't or wouldn't memorize lines for the Godfather. They would be taped in various places, including onto fellow actors, and he would just read them. They said if you watch his eyes, you can actually see him reading. Didn't he win an oscar for that? I'm not sure that was deserved.
Anyway, a fun tour.
