NBA Finals

I feel obligated to post something about the NBA Finals. I don't care for either team, though, and don't plan on watching any of the games.

The Warriors defeated my beloved Trailblazers in four straight. I can't say I hate them for that as they were already on my enemies list. We had big leads in three of the games and then lost in the second half. How did that happen? I think we were tired and they weren't. We played our little hearts out during the regular season and bless our hearts, were all tuckered out. Golden State, meanwhile, just coasted through the season. This is a team that a few years ago won an NBA record 73 games. This year they didn't win 60. And this team now has Kevin Durant on it, so they should be even better. So, I think that is why we lost those leads and ultimately the series. And Durant being out during our series didn't matter. It just meant more shots for Curry. I do like a lot of their team. They do have some whiners on it like Green and Durant. Durant was accused of being soft early in his career. So to counter that, he decided to be surly and get technical fouls. The opposite of playing soft is playing hard, not being a jerk.

Toronto. They're from Canada. What's not to like about Canada? They do have a player that faked an injury last year because he wanted to be traded to another team. He got his wish and now he is playing in The Finals. Let that be a lesson, kids - lying pays off.

So as if often the case, I'll root for the one I hate least. That would be Toronto. They're up one game to none. I don't think it will matter though. Golden State will start pouring in three-pointers and become unstoppable. But we'll see.
