The final game of the season, they play all their subs and are getting creamed. They're behind by 28 points. But they come storming back and win. We rested our regulars before the playoffs and still got an exciting win. ESPN.com has a nice feature where you can look back at the game at various points and it will tell you the percent chance you have of winning. We had a 1% chance at several points during the game.
And then the playoffs. Oklahoma City is not all that good. Their star, Westbrook, is a Class A basketball player and a Class D human being. In game five Damien hits a long, long shot in the final second to win the game, end the series and ends up with a spectacular 50 points. The fact that we don't have a snowball's chance in heck of winning the whole thing and the season will ultimately end in disappointment makes it tough to get too excited. But for now, this is fun.
Next up is the Denver Nuggets. Or the Denver Chicken Nuggets - Zing. I haven't seen a sign like that in the Portland crowd. Come on people.
Denver had a better record that we did, and so they have home court advantage. We lose game one. We didn't shoot very well. We didn't shoot very well in game two and it was in Denver, but we steal a win anyway. Back to Portland.

We play a quadruple overtime game and win. Its the longest playoff game since 1953. We looked to be insurmountably behind several times, but kept coming back. Damien had another subpar game. Our starting center and our back up center are both broken, but we have a two game to one lead now. We need to win tomorrow, but I'm convinced we'll get it done.
The deeper you go in the playoffs the greater the fun you have along the way and the greater the disappointment when you ultimately lose.
