New TV

Its true. I have a new TV. I don't have a so-called man cave. Its kind of a weird phrase, I think. I like to think of my room as a library/museum.

I welcome not only my new TV, but also a blue ray player. I had a 32 inch tv which had a fine picture, but had bad sound. Sometimes fine, but when it would sound certain pitches there would be an annoying vibration. So I thought I would get a new tv, but a little bigger. It's, I don't know, 40 or 42 inches, so plenty big. I'm not the type that needs the biggest tv. Real life is overwhelming enough for me. I don't need something bigger than real life.

So I also now have a blue ray player. Not even that - its a 4k or 4hk or something. It is replacing my old model which is, I swear, a combination DVD/VHS player. Not having much need for a VHS, I'm moving on up. If those VHSs make a come back I'm going to be torqued off.

I've already watched several shows on it. The last few days I have watched something like 12 hours on George Bush  - retrospectives, the funeral, and various other programs about him. I like politics less and less, but I always have liked history. And of history, I most like presidential history. I make sure I watch all presidential funerals. I feel a sense of duty to send him off.

A little morbid, but its just crazy how long presidents are living. John Adams had the record for a long time. He made it to 90. The Reagan broke the record. Then Ford broke his record. Then George HW broke his record. If he can hang in there, Jimmy will have the new record. And coming down the line George W., Barak, and Bill all are looking pretty healthy. It could be a long time until another presidential funeral. By then VHSs will probably be back.
