I don't really the Oakland Raiders, but I'm going to see them in a week. It will be only the third time I've seen an NFL game in person. However, Oakland is bad. Very, very bad. They currently have a record of one win, seven losses, tied with the equally inept New York Giants. Although the Giants have nicer uniforms. The Raiders uniform is various shades of gray. Not pretty uniforms, not pretty team.
This is their last or maybe second to last year in Oakland, then they move to Las Vegas. At least being in Vegas will give them something to do while the other teams are in the playoffs. They play San Diego who are doing OK this year, 5 and 2. They actually are the LA Chargers, but were San Diego for many years. Teams move around too much. Just stay where you are and play a little better football and you'll be fine.
I'm a little bitter because I miscalculated on getting the tickets. I got them near the start of the season. If you wait and they end up being good, they could go up in price, or you might not even get tickets. If they have a bad season, you probably overpay. I should have waited. I went online just now - they have a bunch of tickets for 30 to 40 dollars. I don't remember what I paid. I think it was like 3 or 4 times that. Why do you hate me gods of football?
I'm a little worried about the fans. I've heard their pretty rough. I see a lot of bikers with Oakland Raider jackets on, and they all seem to be size XXXL. I've heard stories about bad behavior by Raider fans. It's like the time a bunch of Hell's Angels parked behind my car at a store in Wyoming (I'm not kidding). I came out and I was trapped. I said, "Move these bikes now, or I'll move them for you." OK, I made that part up. As I recall, I just sat in my car passively until they moved on. But if they weren't all approximately the size of my car, I think I would have given them a severe scolding.
Last week Oakland played arguably the second worst team in the NFL and got beat 34-3. This could be bad. Real bad.
