Sports Update

I should update how things are going for me in the world of sports. This is an interesting time of year anyway, sportswise. Pretty much everything is going on. Hockey has been going for a week or so. I'm not sure,, though. I'm one of the millions of people that don't care about hockey. Basketball is less than a week old. Baseball is in its World Series and the NFL is about halfway through its season.

Oregon Ducks - I saw one game in person. The rest are just hard to even find on TV. They've had some special deal in the last couple years where some obscure station televises them. So its really hard to get into them. They seem destined to get in a bowl game, but not a great one.

Portland Trailblazers - The won two in a row, including spoiling LeBron's coming out party in L.A. Sweet. But then lost in overtime, missing a last second shot. Bitter. We seemed destined for our typical make the playoffs, with an early exit.

Marcus Mariota - I love you Marcus. Marcus is currently ranked around 30th of 32 NFL quarterbacks. It's OK Marcus. My love is unconditional.

Vikings - I just want them to be released from the curse of Fran Tarkenton. My hero made it to three super bowls and lost every one. All we have to do is win one. Just one. Too much to ask?

Drew Brees - I haven't really been a life-long fan. I just feel he's been overshadowed by pretty boy Tom Brady so much. He should get his due. I think he is now. He broke an all-time yardage record (one Fran used to have) on Monday Night FB. I think people are starting to realize he is as good or better than Brady. I like Brady fine enough, by the way, but Drew deserves that same acclaim.
