You can see my previous blog if you want to find out more about the book. For now, on to trivia.
- How conservative or liberal a paper is isn't based on the owner's views. More often it is based on the make up of its readership.
- On a related note - the most liberal paper in the U.S. is the Philadelphia Daily News. The most conservative is The Billings Montana Gazette.
- I'm not sure why, but the phrase "Is my son gifted?", and related phrases, is searched for two and a half times more often than phrases like "Is my daughter gifted?"
- On the nation's most popular hate site (I'll withhold the name), the average joining age is 19. It is about 30% female. Its largest memberships, per capita, are from Idaho, Alaska, and Montana. (The Montanites perhaps read the Billings Gazette.) It gained its most members the day after Barak Obama was elected President.
- The peak age at which a boy might select his lifelong favorite baseball team is 8.
- Between ages 14 and 22 a person will tend to go with a particular party depending on the popularity of the President at the time. For example, a popular Republican President or unpopular Democrat during that time will tend to cause that person to vote Republican the rest of his/her life.
- Weekends with a popular violent movie sees crime rates drop.
- Suicide rates are highest just after midnight and lowest around 9:00 a.m.
- Facebook likes are frequently correlated with IQ and being extroverts.
Cool, huh? Makes you want to buy the book. You don't have to, though, cause I told you all the coolest parts. Your welcome.
