I thought I would continue with my dog theme. I have had a number of dogs. We never seemed to really it off. I think it started with our first dog, Smokey. I crawled into his dog house with him when I was little. I thought he would appreciate the company. He bit me.
However, I think he was fairly smart. He was my only fairly smart dog. We had like three in a row that went out into our street and get run over. I grew up in a place that had quite a bit of pasture and a long driveway. It took a real lack of something to even encounter a car. Then what would make them think "playing" with them was a good idea? "Here comes a really fast silver dog. I should go introduce myself." I remember trying to "train" them. Nope. They had none of that. No sitting. No rolling over. No begging.
They wouldn't even fetch a ball. I thought they all fetched. It's in their DNA. I would throw a ball. They would often just watch it. I would then point to the ball and tell him to go get it. He would typically just stare at my hand.

I also wanted to write about dogs, so I would have an excuse to find my pictures of the two famous dogs I met. The star of "A Dog's Purpose" was one. At least at this stage show he made my dogs look like Albert Einstein. He pretty much failed at whatever he was asked to do by his trainer. Maybe just a bad day. Maybe he got the part because he knew somebody. I don't know. The other dog, Max from "The Grinch", seemed more intelligent, but maybe just because he didn't have to do anything. He pretty much just sat for pictures with people. A pretty good life really.
