A Dog's Purpose Dog

I just watched A Dog's Purpose. I met that dog. I have pictures to prove it, but not the motivation to find them right now. But I am so serious. I met him. More on that later.

Anyway, the movie was fine. I'm guessing the target audience was for people about 8 years old. Maybe just a tad older than the audience of the Captain Underpants Movie. That's alright. I like kids movies a lot of times. In fact, the Captain Underpants movie is on my list of things to watch.

Also, I think grandparents would like this. They talk about certain movies being enjoyable for kids from 8 to 80. This is the opposite. People younger than 8 and older than 80 is the target audience. Plus me.

So its a dog that gets reincarnated and has adventures then finally comes back to his original owner, finding the meaning of life, otherwise known as a dog's purpose, along the way. So that is the whole story. By the way, spoiler alert. Sorry. Peggy Lipton is in this. She was the blonde woman in The Mod Squad. I've never seen a single episode, but I know she was in it. I don't know of her in anything else. Apparently she took a few decades off in between those two things.

At Universal they have a theme park and various shows. One was an animal show. Generally speaking, I don't care for animals for various reasons, but I tagged along with my troop to see this. And part of the show was Buddy, the star A Dog's Life.

The animals did various tricks. They were all very talented, except guess who? Buddy! Buddy is as dumb as a rock. I am so serious. He didn't follow any of the instructions. "Jump Buddy" - Buddy wanders away. "Go up the ramp Buddy"  - Buddy sniffs the ramp some, then wanders away. "Go through the tunnel Buddy" - Buddy just stares at the trainer.

I don't know how he got to star in the movie. Maybe he was having a bad day. Maybe stardom went to his head and he's like, "I ain't doing this stuff anymore. I'm a big star now."

They had another famous dog there. Remember Jim Carrey's dog in the Grinch movie. I think his name was Max. He was there posing for pictures.

I've met two famous dogs and both just minutes apart.

So watch A Dog's Life. Its cute. Maybe a little too cute, but that's OK once in a while. At least he doesn't get shot by his owner at the end like Old Yeller. That is what I was preparing myself for. I think that Walt Disney had some issues. He supposedly loved children, but why kill off Yeller, and Simba's father, and Bambi's mother, etc, etc? Talk about heart wrenching experience for children. Dude, lighten up.
