I hurt my neck somehow. I woke up Saturday morning and it felt like I slept wrong. And then for the next couple hours it got worse. I could find a position and be alright, but if I moved a little bit, or swallowed, or yawned I got a sharp pain. I've had stuff like that before, but never that bad. I won't go into how bad it felt, but it was bad all day, got a little better about midnight, and then Sunday, still quite noticeable, but much, much better.
The silver lining - I watched a bunch of Batman. It was the real Batman - Adam West and Burt Ward. I watched 31 episodes - 23 on Saturday and 8 on Sunday. I figure I had a Bat Quotient of 23/31. That is how much better I felt. That's about right, actually.
After Adam West died recently I got the full series on DVD. That was good timing. I can now appreciate it for how it was meant. When I saw it as a kid, I viewed it pretty much as a drama with a little bit of comedy. Now I can see its actually the opposite of that. I've gotten to see the gang - Joker, Riddler, Egghead, Catwoman, the Mad Hatter, etc. I didn't know most of the guest stars before, but many of the villains were big movie stars. They say Frank Sinatra wanted to be a villain, but they couldn't make it work.
Batman also has the simplest and best theme song of all-time. It sticks in your head forever after hearing about 10 seconds of it. Even more so if you hear it 62 times over a weekend.
The Batman in the movies suck. Its all dark and depressing. Its literally dark for almost the whole movie. I have trouble watching them. Everything today has to be all edgy and depressing.
The part in each episode where they drive up to city hall still exists and I got to see it at the Warner Brothers tour. I don't remember where, but I've seen one of the batmobiles. Apparently they had five different ones, and they still exist various places in the U.S. I always wanted one. I still do. I suppose I could get one made. They say it was just a redesigned Lincoln Continental. How cool would I be driving a batmobile around town. I wouldn't even need the costume. But maybe I should go for the whole deal. I'll have to look around for a sidekick.
