Trump and History

I love non-fiction books, movies etc. I don't like fiction. Let me tell you a story of something that never happened and never will. It has no application to real life. I'm not sure why people are so into that.

I like reading about history. Donald Trump doesn't really do history. I don't want to pile on with criticism. There are enough people that seem to have that covered. However, I would like to comment on his knowledge of history. Some people don't think history is important to study. Maybe so for many. But the job of president? Seems like you would want that.

Point one. He said that he was surprised at how hard the job of being president was turning out to be. Really? Entering WWI, entering WWII, blockading Cuba, dropping an atomic bomb, which Indian treaties to break... a lot of important decisions. I have bad dreams about losing the remote control to the t.v. A president must dream about hitting a wrong button that nukes Iowa. Stuff like that.

Point two. Yesterday he fired the FBI director. He seems to be surprised that this created some uproar. Has this ever been done before? I'm guessing he has no idea. His looking for past precedents seems to be recalling what he did on the Apprentice. Does he know how Watergate turned out? I'm guessing he's fuzzy on it.

There are a bunch of things that seems like they boys in the WH don't seem to be familiar with. Maybe they are just making their own history. A little risky, but maybe it will work out.
