It's fishing season, I suppose. Its the middle of summer and I see a lot of people towing boats around. I'm not a big fan of the "sport" of fishing. Let me see if I've got the general idea. You offer food to some fish. They of course need food to eat, so they take it. Unbeknownst to them, the food is covering up a metallic barb meant to puncture their lip. The sportsman then pulls the fish from his home and from beloved family and friends to the outside world where it is impossible for him to breathe. That is OK, because the fisherman will soon kill him and eat him. Have I got it about right? I think so.
Other "sports" aren't like this. What would be a good analogy? Let's take golf. If golf was like fishing you would play it a little differently. Instead of trying to achieve the best score, you might try to defeat your opponent as follows. You might tell him, "Hey, come over here and look at what I found in the grass." When he comes and bends over to look at that spot in the grass, you repeatedly club him with your driver until dead. Then you eat him.
This is why I don't fish.
