Primary

My two home states, Kentucky and Oregon, had their primary yesterday. Something else they had in common is that they didn't matter at all. I thought this year we might see some action. There were a couple dozen Republicans running for President. And Hillary and Bernie have been locked up. But nobody came. At least not to anything near me. This process is supposed to be democratic, but it isn't. People in Iowa and New Hampshire have a lot more to say about who the next President is than people in Oregon.

So now it shifts to the general election which is even less democratic. I can't believe we still have the electoral college. There used to be some logical reasons for it. Now the only thing I hear is that it might reduce voter fraud. But its just the opposite. You could get a sympathetic governor or registrar or something to sway things in a close state. But, you likely couldn't do that nationally. I figured the Gore/Bush thing would have caused people to want to change it. So if that didn't change it, I guess nothing will.

I think in an earlier blog I predicted Hillary would win. Trump was going to be the Republican, in which case he would lose. Or Trump would not be the Republican, but would then run as an independent and split the vote with the Republican nominee. Either way Hillary wins.

I'm taking back my prediction. I saw in a poll Trump is only two or three percent behind Clinton. Now I think Trump will win. From here on Trump can only go up. He can't say or do anything worse than what he has already. He's showing signs now that he can be or at least pretend to be nice to people. If he just listens to his advisors and starts reading speeches others write for him, he can go up. Clinton really has nowhere to go. She has said where she stands and everyone has made up their minds on her.

Another plus is all the Hollywood people that say they're leaving the country if Trump is elected. So far, they've all been people that I would fine with them going. So that is another plus for Trump.

I'm not rooting for anyone. I'm just making my prediction. Keep in mind I'm wrong a lot. Remember, I'm making this prediction because I decided my first one was wrong.
