Bay Area

I was in the bay area this weekend. I feel I contributed in some small way to the Warriors success by my simply being there. I sent good thoughts their way.

Now I'm in a quandary about the NBA Finals. If the Thunder were in it, it would be easy for me to chose because I do not like them. But I like the Cavs and the Warriors. I feel like I've got to go with the Cavs for the following reasons:

  1. I've seen LeBron play. He was with the Heat and playing in Portland. He and Wade were both en fuego that night. I think they both had about 30 points and decimated the Blazers.
  2. Cavs lost to the Heat last year in the finals. Two of their top three players were injured. What was left was a bad team plus LeBron.
  3. I was sitting in a McDonalds in Cleveland when CNN came on with breaking news that LeBron was going from the Heat to the Cavs. I listened to Cleveland sports radio that afternoon and callers were crying, that's right, crying, about the news.
  4. Cleveland deserves a championships. I know the Cubs haven't won in forever, but Chicago has had the Chicago Bears winning Super Bowls and whoever their hockey team is has won the Stanley Cup. Boston Red Sox whined and whined that they hadn't won for a long time. Thank goodness they finally did so they can shut up already. Cleveland hasn't won anything, really haven't even been close since the 50's. The Cavs, the Indians, the Browns - they all suck year after year. But complain - no. At least nothing like Red Soxers.
  5. Look, LeBron can spin the ball on his finger. How cool is that? I would give anything to be able to do that. Yes, I've tried. I can juggle, so why can't I spin the ball on my finger? I think that will be a resolution for next year.
Anyway, go Cavs.
