The Boss

I got to see Bruce Springsteen a week ago. I was going to be in Portland anyway and I saw that he would be there. I saw there were $150 tickets. I thought, "no". But then I saw there were $65 tickets. I thought, "maybe so".

So I did it. I am so glad I did. I was in the very top row in the stadium, but not all the way at the back, so it wasn't that bad. I had some binoculars with me, but it would have been good even if I didn't have those.

He was high energy. He came on at 8:00 and was done at 11;20. Seriously. It was the longest concert I had ever been to. And he was into it the whole time. I can't do anything for that long without being exhausted. I can't watch TV for that long. He was amazing.

He had some kind of walkway that went into the crowd. He went on that a few times. Once he went out and fell backwards into the crowd. He was then crowd surfed back 50 feet to the stage. And he sang the whole time it was happening. What the what? I still love Elton, but Elton just sits at the piano for 2:45. Bruce makes Elton look like a real slug.

I wasn't a huge fan before, although I've known some that are. I get it now. I've been listening to all his albums of Spotify the last week. Its taking a while. He's got a lot of them.

He has great music and I like his lyrics whenever I understand them. It's a little tough. I know the song titles so I can make those out. The other lyrics are tough for me to discern. "Glory days, da da da da da da, Glory days, da, da, da, da, da, da, Glory days, Glory days, Glory days, da, da, da, ..."
