For some reason I see 13 as the key number. If you are behind by 12 or less, it seems doable. If 14 or more, insurmountable.
Anyway, I'm fine. By just checking the updates, it doesn't even feel like a loss. I still kind of want Gonzaga to win, but this is about where they tend to be eliminated every year anyway, so I'm pronouncing them dead to me now, so I can move on.
Speaking of basketball, I have been recording and watching Golden State games lately. They're going for the all-time win record, so that's kind of fun. And that Steph Curry is just adorable. He's like a teddy bear you would just like to pick up and hug, if it didn't seem a little creepy to anyone else watching.
His dad, Del, used to play for Portland. And speaking of that, I saw Portland in person a few days ago. We were at one of the far ends of the stadium, fourth row from the top. Not perfect seats, but they were $11 each, so ca-ching. Actually, with some kind of bogus handling fee, they were like $17 each. If I chose the option of printing out my tickets at home, so they have absolutely nothing to do with it, how do they get to claim a handling fee? I'm not sure.
By the way, I just looked up on-line to see when Del played with the Trailblazers. He never did. I wonder who I was thinking of?Anyway, Portland won over the Mavericks. The only one on the Mavericks I kind of knew was Dirk Nowitski. He's nearing the end of his career. I saw a stat while watching the Golden State game, who just happened to be playing the Mavericks. Dirk is way up there in total points in NBA history, but isn't even close to being a household name. It's like Kareem Jabbar, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryan, Wilt Chamberlain, and Dirk. Poor Dirk deserves better. I'm putting him on my all-time underrated list. That will make him feel better.
