I was kind of impressed with myself a week ago. I had four playoff predictions and they all came out. This week I was one out of four, and the one I picked correctly I almost went the other way with. It turned out Kentucky basketball was on tv at the same time. So I had five games taped. With Kentucky losing I was actually one out of five. Pathetically bad. Overall, I'm 5 out of 9, You should do that well just by picking the favorite each time.
Not that I know anything, but here are my predictions for next week.
New England vs Denver - I would think New England. The only team I'm halfway rooting for now is Denver. It would be fun to see Peyton win. I don't think he can. He was the lowest rated quarterback in football. It'll probably be pretty boy Tom Brady going on though.
I hate cheating. When they ruled Brady shouldn't be suspended, that wasn't the same thing as declaring him innocent. He destroyed his cell phone when the story broke so no one would find out what he told the deflaters. Its the football equivalent of Nixon burning the tapes. My head is with New England, but my heart is with Denver. That would be a good song title.
Arizona vs Carolina - This is so boring. Green Bay or Seattle in there would have been a lot more interesting for me. I probably won't even watch this, even with my one hour DVR version. Aside from cheaters, I also hate pompous people. That's Cam Newton. All that posing and dancing around is in poor taste. And not just for touchdowns. If he runs for a first down its like he just cured cancer.
I also don't like quarterbacks that run all the time. It should be like when I was a kid playing driveway football. The quarterback can run at most once on any set of downs.
I know two or three people total in this game. Boring. I'll pick Carolina. My head is with Carolina, but my heart is for no one. That would not be a very good song title.
