Christmas in Washington

I didn't watch Christmas in Washington this year. Its my favorite Christmas show. I decided to look on-line and just see who was on it this year. You know what? They didn't even have it. Its been canceled. Its been going for 33 years and now its done. I always liked it. It got a little repetitious because they always had the same format. Exactly the same year after year. Seems like they could have changed that up a bit, but I liked it anyway.

They didn't have comedy skits or anything. There would be hosts. I remember Tom Brokaw one year. He was good. Conan O'Brien was really good. One year they had the cast of some sit-com be the hosts. That was dumb. They just wanted publicity for their show. They continued the hosting slide by having "The Rock" host it last year.

They usually had classy singers. I can remember Neil Diamond, Diana Ross - people like that. They would just come on and sing. At the end the President would get up and give a short Christmas message.

It was nice. Not nice for everyone I guess, because they dropped it because the ratings had gone down. They don't have shows like that anymore. It used to be Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, etc all had Christmas specials. This year they had a Bill Murray Christmas special !?!? Now the only Christmas shows are seeing the Rudolph and Charlie Brown specials for the billionth time.

So the reason for cancelling Christmas in Washington is said to be low ratings. In researching this on-line I stumbled onto another possible explanation. Its from PatriotUpdate.com.

Obama has killed Christmas for an entire nation. Well done. “Christmas in Washington” has now been cancelled because they couldn’t get a broadcast partner and frankly, because no one wants to watch a Marxist Muslim pretend to celebrate Christmas while thanking children who pose as elves for their votes. It’s depressing. Perhaps the show will come back under President Trump or Cruz and it will be a blow out production where people will love to celebrate Christmas once more. For now, we are all just trying to survive and we are sick of Hollywood commies and our narcissist president. Coal for all of these trolls.

And I thought it was low ratings. I stand corrected.
