People of the Year II

I see Time Magazine Person of the Year is Angela Merkel from Germany. I think they only other German they picked was Hitler one year. At least he had a major impact. It wasn't good, but an impact. I'm not sure how she has changed my life. I never would have thought I would see an "Angela" win person of the year. Maybe someday a Tiffany or a Chloe. Angela is opening a lot of doors. So I'm still going with Donald Trump. How much has he been on the news compared to Angela? If you're virtually never on the news, how can you be Person of the Year. OK, enough of my rant.

I also see Serena Williams got Sports Illustrated Person of the Year. I thought about her. But there is also American Pharaoh. Technically not a person, granted. I don't know if I mentioned it, but I met Funny Cide. He won two parts of the triple crown several years ago. He is at a horse park in Lexington, Kentucky. He was in his stall just hanging out. His life now is eating oats and being a stud. I'm sure he doesn't even know he's famous. Bless his heart. At the time, there was nobody there but him and me. I tried talking to him, but he was fairly unresponsive. The famous get a little bit stuck up, but I don't think that's the case with him (or her?). Just waiting for his next oat bag or bale of hay.

The problem with both of these is they aren't from the big three - football, basketball, or baseball. About the only one from there was Curry from Golden State. And at the risk of being biased, he is male and human. He wasn't that great in the finals, though. Also, if his win streak was still going, I might pick him.

Winner: I'm going with American Pharaoh. An upset.

Entertainment Person of the Year - Some entertainment magazine had Jennifer Lawrence. OK, I guess. There are not other stand outs that I can see.

Looking back, 2015 is kind of an off year. It's all happening in 2016, though - Presidential election, Olympics and its a leap year. Bring on 2016!
