Movies of 2015

My Top Movies of 2015 -

Here are my reviews of movies I saw in theaters this year. To qualify to be reviewed I needed to have stayed awake through well more than half of the movie. I usually see animated movies. I'm not sure why. They just seem more interesting to me. I also don't do well with complicated plots. I actually got a little confused in the Sponge Bob movie. Seriously.

Avengers Age of Ultron - I mostly like this because I saw Scarlett Johansen when I went to the David Letterman taping. That is the only real plus of the movie, but that is enough. 2 Stars - Both for Scarlett.

Inside Out - That was a good movie. And pretty deep for an animated movie. 4 Stars.

Minions - Not at all deep, but hilarious. I wondered if they really could make an entire movie with minions. Oh yes they can. 4 Stars.

Home - 1 Star. And it almost didn't qualify because of the sleep requirement. I don't like them putting in recognizable voices for all these movies. The purple alien looked nothing like Jim Parsons, but I was thinking of Sheldon every time he talked.

Sponge Bob Movie - Delightful. Better than the first one. 4 Stars.

San Andreas - You wouldn't think an earthquake, especially one that somehow lasts for about an hour, would be boring. It was. 1 Star.

Peanuts Movie - It was fine. It was good to see the gang again, but I've seen them before. A lot. 3 Stars.

Pixels - The last half hour had a lot of video game special effects. The bad part is you've got to sit through an hour of an Adam Sandler movie to get to it. We'll split the difference and give it a 2.

Jupiter Ascending - I never did figure out what the title meant, let alone why they made this movie. 1 Star.

Everest - They worst guy in the movie ended up being one of the survivors. So, I can only give it a 2.

Shaun the Sheep Movie - 4 Stars. I love this movie. The idea for this blog came to me because I got the DVD for Christmas. It actually has no words in it, so I think that scared some people off, but it is delightful. Not many saw it. I was the only one in the theater when I watched it. I started watching it with my family today and by the end I was once again the only one in the room. Don't worry about that, Its the best movie of the year.
