There was a major terrorist attack in France. That is about all I know. I should keep up on news better, but I don't. Its not that I don't care. I just figure even if I learn the details, its not going to do me or anyone else any good.
I feel a closeness with France. I took three years of French in school. I can still count to ten and can remember several animals. So, except for maybe if I'm in a French barnyard, its not all that helpful. But I still like to think I have a connection. I was in France a long time ago. I remember trying ask someone about finding a restroom, but I think it came out, "Why is the bathroom?" Uncomfortable silence. In class we had to have a French name. I was Francois. I picked that because my favorite football player and my pet calf were named Francis.
Anyway, I'm sad for France. Like I said, I haven't really followed it on the news, but I'll go out on a limb and figure it had to do with terrorists. I don't know a lot about anarchists, but it seems the terrorist are pretty much them, just a hundred years later. Anarchists were anti-government. They weren't always violent, but some definitely were. They were behind bombings, one killed President McKinley, and I think they were at least a big part of the Russian and Spanish Revolutions, and the start of WWI. There was a lot of action going on a hundred years ago. I think they kind of got swallowed up in WWI when pretty much everything was anarchy anyway. Hopefully it won't take a World War to get rid of terrorists.
