Willie and Alison

Next concert I would like to review was one that featured Alison Krauss and Willie Nelson. I really wanted to see Alison and the fact that Willie was there was fine, but not a big draw for me.

I was surprised to find out that Alison has more Grammy awards than any other female, and by quite a bit. It was an outdoor concert, which really doesn't suit her, I don't think. She does a lot of slow, quiet songs. Anyway, she was great. And she just seems like a really nice person. The only drawback was that I sat next to four people that talked about their little lives for the entire concert. I moved later, but I should have done it sooner. They used the music like background music for their conversation. Boo to you.

So Alison was great, and Willie kind of wasn't. He had a lot more hits than I realized. That's a plus. So, I don't know how to describe it, but his songs were a combination of singing and talking. He'd be singing and then would just start talking the lyrics. I didn't quite get it. Later I read reviews online and a lot of the people writing were saying the same thing.

Willie's got to be about a thousand years old now, so if you want to see him, you better hurry up. I'm glad I saw him, but once is probably enough for me.
