Nutrition

Well, its that time of year when I get ticked off about the holiday displays in the stores. It is the first part of September and they're all on display - Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I bet that Halloween candy is going to be pretty chewy a couple months from now. I do have a better attitude about it now. I still don't like it, but I've given up trying to convince the world that this is morally wrong. We might as well jump the gun on everything. We are right in the middle of the Presidential race which we won't be voting on for a year. It already has gone on too long.

I just said I was done trying to convince people of this heinous wrong, but here I go. Here are some guidelines for various events.

1. Halloween stuff comes out on October first.

2. Thanksgiving stuff on November first.

3. Christmas on December first.

4. Anyone that wants to run for President can file on January first of the election year. That still gives you almost of year do your thing.

5. While we're at it, Let's speed of trials. At the Supreme Court, each side gets one hour to argue their case. So, I'll be generous and give three. The prosecution gets from 9 to noon. An hour for lunch. Then the defense gets from 1 to 4. Call all the witnesses you want, but you only have three hours. The jury then has until five o'clock to come to a conclusion. If they can't decide, then the attorneys for each side Rock, Paper, Scissors it.

What does all this have to do with nutrition? Nothing. I got sidetracked.

Last blog I mentioned the low fat pop-tarts. Tasty and nutritious. Here's another one. I love those little candy corns they have at Halloween time, (by "Halloween time" of course I mean September and October.) If I want to make them last I eat the white, the middle, and the orange in different bites. Do you know how much fat is in those candy corns? Nothing, zero, zilch, nada. I was shocked. You could eat these by the handful. I already do that, but you could now do it without as much guilt. They may not exactly be like vitamins, but they've got to be a whole lot healthier than most of the candy. I'm pretty sure I read the label right. You might want to check that, though, just to be safe.
