Freeway Trucks

I drove for about ten hours on the freeway recently. There were a lot of trucks, of course. Let me first state that I generally like truck drivers and their trucks. However, I had plenty of time to make some observations in ways they could improve.

- It bothers me when a big truck feels the need to pass another big truck - especially going uphill. The slow truck might be going 52 miles an hour and the "fast" truck is going like 52.1 miles an hour. It takes him about eight days to get past him and meanwhile there is a mile long line of cars behind. Please don't do that anymore.

- Many trucks have the name "Swift". I guess that is a company. You need to change your name.

- In the past I have heard truck drivers state that they "drive truck". No you don't. You might say that you "drive a truck" or perhaps you "drive trucks". Some people out there have the belief that you guys aren't rocket scientists. Don't give them any ammunition by saying that you drive truck for a living.

- Again, I generally like truck drivers. Buy while we're on the subject of driving, who I really hate are those people that are going much faster than anyone else and weaving in and out of traffic. They do not appear to be emergency vehicles, so I think they should slow down. Also the amount they weave in and out seems to be inversely proportional to their use of a turn signal. I saw one of those guys get pulled over by a police car. That was great, but it happens so rarely that they pretty much feel they can drive with almost no chance of getting caught. Forget the drug dealers, bank robbers, etc. Lets make freeway weavers priority one.
