Yep, I'm going to New York City in about a month and a half. I was there once before for less than a day. I'm assuming I didn't really get to see everything in that time. I'm assuming that I'll never go again, so I'll have to cram everything in on this trip. I felt like I saw a lot in the 10 hours I was there before. This time it will be like six days, so I should be able to get it all in.
What I'm not doing - Plays are dumb. There, I said it. I just don't get the attraction. They're like movies, but not as good. So I'll go down Broadway because the neon lights are bright there, but I won't be seeing any plays. I haven't priced any, but I'm just assuming they're pretty spendy. That's a lot of money to be not entertained. And what's with the play Cats anyway. Its a play with people dressed up as cats is all I know. Does not seem worth the money.
I did think about going to see David Letterman. I went on-line to check it out. Turns out you can try for tickets, but you there is some kind of lottery. Even iff you get picked in their lottery, you get a phone call from them and then have to answer a trivia question to get the tickets. Nevermind. Also Dave is quitting at some point soon. He may be done by then. And if not, there will probably be a huge demand, lessening my chances even more.
What I will do - I've been out to the Statue of Liberty, but not in it. When I went there before, I was too lazy to get off the boat. "I guess I'm close enough." That was dumb. This time I'll actually go inside.
Last time I was in the U.N. building literally for about 5 minutes. I can spend a little more time than that this time.
The Yankees are in town then. It would be a real highlight for me to actually get to boo Alex Rodriguez in person. Awesome.
There are a couple of famous art museums. From my discussion on plays, you might not think me cultured. I'm not. But I would like to see these art museums - Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art.
The best part of the trip of course is I'll have awesome blog material to last for quite awhile.
